Ordered off this site with a $25 off coupon. Figured it was worth a shot at only 75 bucks since there are 3 big features that it has:
- buzzes for incoming texts/messages/calls/emails (I miss many calls with my phone in my jacket or noisy environments)
- leash for your phone so you never leave it
- wake up alarm
All other features are bonuses but I'll be using it to track my jogging/calorie burn also. Comes with 2 bands (big and small size; black only so far). Charges in 1/2 hour and lasts 5 days. The band is comfortable and I don't notice it anymore. It doesn't seem to be draining my battery on my phone either. I'm amazed at how it knows I'm in a deep vs light sleep. Very fun to use. Haven't tried the Walkman player controls yet.

Not enough functionality. This is a fitness tracker that really does a poor job tracking even steps. The life monitoring function needs way more options for customizing. No manual inputs for exercise that is not running. I've given up using mine. Not worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pisces Awesome fitness band
I purchased this smartband one month ago and was really impressed. Setting it up for use with my Sony Xperia Z1 phone was really easy as you only need to connect it via NFC after downloading the Sony Smartband app as well as the Lifelong app. I really like the vibrating notification whenever there is a text message or phone call, especially in a loud location setting. I know that I won't miss my messages and calls by wearing the band. With the vibrating function, I stopped the habit of leaving my phone behind on my desk at work. The band is also aesthetically pleasing and really comfortable to wear. The wrist straps come in a wide range of colours so you can match it with your clothes. I absolutely love the sleep monitoring feature on the Lifelog app. Deciphering deep and light sleep is really interesting. The smart and could also act as an alarm clock by vibrating to wake me up. No more loud alarms=)
The number of steps you take in a day is fairly accurate. The step counter will not increase your number of steps if you shake your hand vigorously in the air, which is very impressive. However, the transportation feature from the Lifelog app sometimes is not very accurate when I was on an escalator in a shopping mall. Once I got off the escalator, instead of counting my walking steps for the next hour as I was shopping at the stores, it added my walking time to transportation. As this is a beta version, I am looking forward to the next update for increased accuracy.
Overall, this is an amazing product in my opinion =)

Rated 3 out of 5 by JohnnyK Sony Please fix the software I want to LOVE this!
I love SONY so much, EVERYTHING I own is made by them, I could open a store with all the stuff I have but with this little band not living up to the video hype I was upset to say the least, Every SONY item I have purchased has exhilarated me with its PERFECT design and function. But this little device takes a while to sync from the band to the phone to give you your data and the life log software does not work well in tracking steps and jogging, I ran for 20 minutes and nothing showed up on the APP except a few extra steps. The video here on the site shows you all these cool graphics as you go through your day but I don't see any of that in the software at all so it appears to be lacking in a LOT of features that did not make it to the software per the video. You will be somewhat disappointed when you first start using it but its full features advertised in the video start to taper off, I have yet to get this thing to bookmark a location I was at and nothing happened but thankfully it tracked the pictures I took at that moment when lets view what you did in the time line at that moment. It does log the pictures and calls you make, web surfing and a few of the things you do on your phone very well. The best feature is the sleep tracking that is useful information for me but the rest is equal to what a fit bit offers and I tossed that out when I got this Smart band thinking it was going to offer me so much more than the other fitness bands. SONY call me about this please I would like you to fix this so I can fall in love like I wanted to when I bought it with so much excitement!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by KatanaSanJI its ok but fails to deliver in many departments
It’s a convenient device, advertises that it vibes with incoming texts and calls it is supposed to track fitness and sleep data as well as time spent on social media
However it fails to deliver in every single department, I am not completely bashing it but there are many things that it should have done on release and it just doesn’t meet the mark.
The calling feature is great and works wonderfully, but is a complete failure on the messaging side. You are forced to use the default messaging app and it doesn’t communicate to any other messaging app. It doesn't link hangouts in any way, 90% of my messaging is via hangouts (built in Google talk this is what the OS is based off of how could they miss this). They should have integrated optional texting apps but I can understand not doing that because of the number of them that exist however missing the default google messaging and optional messaging apps is ridiculous. I don't use the default text app because it sucks, I prefer hangouts but tried other texting apps only to find out that they don’t work either this was a big fail. In my opinion there should be integration for programs like textra, hoverchat, Facebook and hangouts.
It falls by the wayside on the fitness tracking; it is unable to capture running on a treadmill, elliptical machine or bike in any way at all. Making any form of calorie tracking completely useless. The only thing it seems to track decently is walking steps. There should have been integration into the lifelog app to insert work outs and a calorie amount used for that work out(chest work out 1.5 hrs 700 calories)
The sleep tracking is actually amazing, I am not sure how they get the deep sleep readings but I have found it quite informative. The only issue I find is that it often goes into night mode when you are stationary (ie: watching TV or reading) and begins to track sleep so I had to force it to night mode for 12am-6am so I still miss sleep data.
There is still a lot of tweaking that needs to be done with both the device and the app that It connects to. Account linking is a huge thing that is missed proper linking to kobo to track reading Facebook, google, and such.
All in all it’s a cool device but falls by the wayside on a lot of features it is fun to play with and see where the tech is going though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BrianB71 Pretty good, but!
First off I would like to congratulate Sony on making a band that is pleasing to the eye compared to all the ugly bands currently on the market. I have had the band for almost three months now and have to say that I really enjoy it. The one thing that Sony should really concentrate on at this point is making it compatible with other health and fitness apps such as MyFitnessPal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by boobooboo Great start but needs improvements..
The locking mechanism is flawed. I had trouble with it coming loose from the time I got it.
Finally ended up losing it and did not even notice.
It should be replaced by a better clasp mechanism.
Liked the product itself while I had it :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by ch4meleon An Affordable Fitness Solution
With so many fitness apps flooding the market, it can be hard to find the right fitness band for you. But the Sony SmartBand certainly has a lot going for it. Since it's fully waterproof, stylish, light weight and works with the robust Sony LifeLog app, Sony's take on Fitness tracking offers a lot of top features for a very affordable price.
