The HTXT1 was just what I was looking for when I set up a whole new home theater system. Along with this purchase I bought a wall unit and 60" TV for a large family room (20'X20') with high ceilings. Visually the HTXT1 is very sleek. I have no cables showing. My wife is happy to be able to seamlessly stream her favorite NY radio station through wireless Bluetooth from her iPhone radio app to the HTXT1. There have been no dropouts that I can recall from 30 ft away. The sound quality for Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Blue-Ray movies, Xbox 360 games and radio has been terrific and plenty loud enough. My neighbor really likes the system and wants me to convince her husband to give up his bulky home theater system with 5 speakers,sub-woofer and cables spread throughout their family room. This really is a sleek package. Just make sure your TV's stand will fit on the unit and doesn't exceed the weight requirements. I found a nice 60" LED that was light enough and fit perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GeorgeCT Decent sound, low profile speaker system.
Using this with a Sony KDL40W600B (40 inch) LED TV.
Listening source... Digital Cable TV Shows, Digital Cable Movies, Digital Cable Music, Blu-Ray, DVD & VHS.
Pretty easy to hook up (via HDMI) using TV ARC from TV to speaker system.
Setting up the base, treble and other settings is a little awkward at first until you understand you're toggling through each menu and entering into that setting and making the adjustments.
Bass sound is great and can be over powering if set too high.
You can adjust the bass and sub-woofer independently.
Treble is average and sounds OK.
Sub-woofer is pretty powerful for a small all in one unit.
Stereo separation could be a little better but by no means bad.
The only REAL big issue I have is that it sometimes will not play any sound even though it turns on. I have to turn the unit off and on (sometimes a few times) for the speakers to finally play sound.
I don't know if it's glitch with the speakers or with the ARC connection.
Other than that, I like the sound and would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the issue of sometimes no sound when turned on.
I would recomend this for TV's in the 40 to 50 inch range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sporeboy Excellent space-saving option
Exactly what I was looking for. I have a small Toshiba television with awful sound quality and have had to use a separate sound system to control the audio. I had a receiver setup, but it was quite a hassle to do all the switching and some of the audio channels were'nt coming through.
This Sony sound device setup in a snap, it handles all the switching for my cable box/television and the Blu-ray player. My tablet paired instantly with the NFC link.
Sound A+ for what it is. Separate subwoofer volume from the main volume. The front dislay is simple, but it shows what device is being played. Voice controls, HDMI passthrough. Honestly, it's a pretty well designed sound bar that didn't require my electrician to do the wiring. It exceeds my expectations for a very fair price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JesusChrysler Phenomenal sound!
Three weeks into owning this stunning sound platform and all I can say is "how did SONY do it?" This device far exceeded my expectations in every way. It easily supports the weight of my 52" TV. It delivers a multitude of sound choices that are pre-programmed into the slick remote.
I was having a difficult time hearing dialogue via my TV speakers or a Vizio sound bar. Now it's like I can really hear again thanks to the many adjustments available for this system.
Great bass, nice tonal separation between sound effects and the spoken word. If you're having problems discerning the spoken word while watching TV this unit does the trick. I have no regrets in deciding on SONY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by SteveL It Just Works
Great sounding and unobtrusive visually, this speaker does a phenomenal job. I used a speaker setup CD that does a frequency scan from 20Hz to 20kHz. By setting the Bass to +3 and sub-woofer to 8 (down two spots from the default 10) you get a smooth cross-over. The sound is great - for normal TV you won't notice any "boomy-ness" just a richer, fuller sound. But for music and surround sound movies it gives you all the bass punch you would want, clear dialog, and an impressive, wide, soundstage. Unlike my friends who use there surround sound systems rarely, this offers appropriate audio all the time. Couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dath Good all around system
the Sony sound plate is a good all around system. great full sound and deep bass that sounds just right but you have to find the right settings that you would enjoy. the subwoofer should not be to high where the sound would crackle ie: keep it between 4- or 9 and play around with the other settings until you get the sound you like. Once you achieve that it sounds great you hear every little thing that goes on either watching a movie or playing a Video game. it sounds great for playing music you can attach your smart phone via Bluetooth to stream your music! Its a great purchase!

I received this product as a gift for Christmas. It's so much sleeker and thoughtfully designed than any of the other things I considered and it's really a step up from my normal TV speakers in terms of audio quality. The dual sub-woofers on the bottom of the unit are very powerful. The Bluetooth connection with my iPhone worked flawlessly and sounded crisp, and when used with the SongPal app the experience is even better. I can adjust the bass, treble, volume and other options straight from my phone, as well as turn the unit on or off. It's so packed with features that I'm surprised the price wasn't higher. If you haven't already, I would highly recommend picking one up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Shopper1725 Wonderfully inegrated sound stand
It is perfect for clear and full sound. I wanted an integrated, plug and play, full sound solution to my Sony XBR ultraHD set. I needed clearer sound for voices. I wanted it to work with the TV sound settings. It does both. I would buy this again. Note, it has a big, clear, sound, but it's not really a sourround system. It suits my condo living room well and is clear and full at all volumes, even with the 'night' setting turned on.
