useful

Pros: Stylish, pretty universally compatible

Cons: very light and gets pulled by the power cables

I bought this to play music from my phone to my stereo. It works great. There is some audio quality lost in the process but not much.

Just what I was looking for

Pros: Easy to use, simple to install

Cons: Cables are heavier than the unit

After searching high and low for a bluetooth device that would do what I wanted I gave this unit a try. I wanted to send my audio from my lap top via bluetooth to my stereo system. I didnt want to buy another speaker for my living room which already was full of them. So I searched for a better alternative and I found it. This unit was easy to install, easy to use and it paired so fast with my laptop I didnt even have time to blink. We were listening to music threw my stereo system in minutes. It was flawless and the sound was great. The unit is small and lite. Comes with power cable and mini jack male to male cable. I needed to buy stereo mini to RCA cables . If your looking to do what I did this is the unit for you. I did Check with Sony to see if this unit was compatable with my type of bluetooth. It was and the customer service was very helpful. Thanks Sony for a great product.

Solved my problem

Pros: So small, fits anywhere, works when TV is mute.

Cons: Noticeable delay if TV volume is on when listening to Bluetooth.

I bought this for the transmitter function and am so glad I did. My better half likes to hit mute but leaves the TV on. I prefer to hear the TV and only look up from time to time. I paired it with my Jawbone icon Bluetooth and then connected it to the TV audio out jack, turned on the power and it worked well. One suggestion it to make sure the mini plug is pushed well into the TV or you will get distorted sound. By the way, it is within 15 feet of my wi-fi extender and it still works fine.

Decent Unit

Pros: Looks great, great sound quality from iPhone

Cons: Expensive, Bluetooth reliability and range could be better

I purchased this unit because I am a college student with an iPhone and a Bluetooth enabled laptop and the idea of a nice set of Bluetooth speakers really intrigued me. I didn't like the fact that current Bluetooth speaker systems sacrifice sound quality. So I decided to buy nicer speakers that were wired and then use this unit to add the Bluetooth functionality. The sound quality from my iPhone is, to my ear, identical to that from a direct line out from the headphone jack. The sound quality does not seem to degrade as I increase the distance between the phone and the receiver. The sound quality from my laptop is less than stellar but this seems to be an issue with the laptop, not the receiver. The unit works fairly well considering the limitations of Bluetooth technology. The range on the system does not exceed 10ft. in my apartment. I do have a WiFi router so it might be interfering. Sometimes the sound will cut out and come back on a sec later within the 10ft. radius but is decently reliable overall. Overall, although this unit is expensive, it is a decent unit that works with the currently limitations of Bluetooth tech quite well. It works well in the application I have it in and would recommend it to anyone with a similar application in mind. It also transmits apparently, although I have not tested it in this application as of yet.
