What is Radio Frequency?

Radio Frequency transmission works by sending our radio frequency signals from the transmitter to the headphones. Radio frequency signals allow high fidelity sound reproduction and have a large reception range that does not require keeping the headphones within line of sight of the transmission. Radio frequency signal quality can deteriorate due to external noise and interference in some settings.

Sound

Neodymium magnets give you a high fidelity, FM stereo sound reproduction.

Design

Comfortable fit with adjustable headband and complete coverage of the ear.

Battery

Supplied rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery automatically charge by placing the headphones on the transmitter base station; headphones charge via electromagnetic induction charging.

Worst Purchase Ever

Pros: Are you kidding?

Cons: Everything, it can't even do a satisfactory job with what it was designed to do: voice.

I used to have similar wireless headset from Philips some 10 years ago. They did the job they were supposed to do very well. Now, I have no idea why this low quality product can ever get on the market. The promised 150 feet range might work, but I have no idea where. The best distance that I've been able to get without excruciating noise is 6 feet. Beyond that one has to be happy with the same voice quality level that existed on 40+ years old FM car radios. Well, actually I take it back. Those FM car radios had a lot better voice quality. Overall this piece of thing (not worth calling it headset) is good only for fishing net weight (but remember to remove the battery first).

Two sound systems for my TV

Pros: Very comfortable; great sound.

Cons: A little static now and then but no big deal.

I hooked up my Sony Wireless Stereo Headphone System using method (B) Connect to LINE OUT or REC OUT in just a few minutes. Now my wife can control her TV volume using normal controls and I can use the Headset to set volume to suit my diminished hearing capability. Best gimmick I ever bought... would have paid 3 or 4 times the price once I learned how well it works. Great for late night after spouse has retired... just put TV on mute or Volume 0 and use Headset. I highly recommend to anyone in a situation like mine: my wife hears perfectly; I should have hearing aids but still too vain. Thank you Sony for a great product.

Good performance for the money

Pros: Good sound quality, easy to use

Cons: Squeaky earphone mounts, sensitive to EMI

These wireless headphones do a pretty good job of sound quality and comfort. They work well in the immediate area of my living room. They are sensitive to radio frequency noise generators (TV, computer, playstation, etc) and seem to work best line of sight. The only problem I have found is the noise reduction system pumping during extreme low frequency playback (pipe organ 10-20 hz), which you would normally never encounter.

Great for what I needed!

Pros: Good range vs. other line-of-sight technologies like infrared; decent build quality, look nice.

Cons: A little un-user-friendly, a bit staticy in places like condos with lots of rf noise from wifi on 2.4

I'm satisfied with my purchase. They are a bit staticy, but provide a good movie experience. The static is acceptable. If you plan on using these for music, look else-where. I bought these because I live in a condo and hate watching movies with the volume so low. These offered a solution. I have a great movie watching experience, and my neighbors can sleep at night. Wifi at 2.4ghz will cause crackling at times. BUT.... Any rf audio is gonna suffer from this. Not just Sony products. The biggest con is the Sony proprietary form-factor of the battery. Four stars from me.

static poor reception

Pros: fits good, good sound, however....

Cons: dont move your head, dont be more than 8 ft away

for $130Cdn, its not a great buy. At 8 ft away sitting on the couch, if you move your head side to side the static almost makes you take off the headset. with today's technology, these should be sold at the dollar store so you wont be disappointed when you put them on.

Nothing but Static

Pros: none

Cons: Permanent static

Permanent static regardless of what I do. I can hear sound but the static is still there. Even if the audio jack is not connected, the static is still there. Seems like it's an issue with the base.

Static..........................

Pros: Nice design, auto-on/off, comfortable, good range, great audio when not static-y

Cons: Static, static, static

I like the design of the headphones and for $35, I thought I couldn't go wrong. I WAS wrong. No matter how close you are to the transmitter, you can't avoid the intermittent (every 10-15 seconds) static.... If it weren't for that (BIG if), these would be great. When the static isn't there, I can go 30 ft into the bedroom, where the signal must travel through two walls, and the audio is perfect. They are comfortable, and the auto-on/off (though not a huge deal) is a neat feature. The other issue I have is that the volume goes up and down continuously and it's extremely annoying. I would like to like these, but I can't.... I will be returning them.

A good investment for the money.

Pros: Great sound, easy set up.

I had my set for a year or more and have had no problems with static or lost signal even from 15 to 25 ft away.

I'm Hearing Impaired

Pros: Helps me enjoy TV with my family,

Cons: None that I can tell

Since my hearing is impaired, anything that helps me amplify sound so I can enjoy time with my family is a treasure. I still need to use closed captions on most movies and TV shows but it's treat to hear the voices and music along with it. It was always just disruptive noise to me before, even with hearing aids. I'm really grateful to be able to share watching movies and TV with my family again. Before I got this I was only able to watch on my computer because it has high end sound card, and I stream movies and TV shows. Being part of my family again is wonderful.

Not the best

Pros: very comfterable, turns off automaticly, eliminates ambient sound

Cons: Static, expect static, base sound due to transmitter has problems

I bought this as a repalcement for my very uncomfortable previous headphones, i decided on wireless because i exercise with music playing, and I prefer to use my wider range of Music on my Computer than my Phone. eventually i broke the wire on my old set of headphones by snagging a cabinet during my routine, and was in need of a new sound system that would not bother anyone else in my dwelling. After purchase, when I opened the box I was immediately impressed that it came with everything needed, and how comfortable the headphones actually are. unfortunatly after the 16 hour charge time, the sound was Sub-par. although there happens to be nothing wrong with the speakers themselves, the transmission/receiver method produces nearly predictable static bursts, and trouble with the low base. i have tried nearly everyway i can think of without voiding the warranty (yet) to fix the static and base issue, and found that the system itself causes the problems; due to its compression program that causes undesirable "noise". If you are going wireless i recommend the switch to a more premium set, the extra cash spent will be well worth it.

design flaw

Pros: great sound

Cons: dont connect to base charger

These headphones would be great if we didn't have to cram stuff between them to keep them connected to the charging base and this doesn't always work! Its frustrating that we spent over 200 dollars on two sets of earphones that half the time don't work!! :(

Don't buy more then (1) Set

Pros: Decent design

Cons: Ok sound, terrible static and noise

Purchased 6 pair but you can only use one at a time!?! As soon as you use a 2nd pair anywhere in the house the static in both pairs is terrible. Ok if you just want a single cheap pair of wireless headphones.
