Pros:
Incredible sound quality, sleek look, decent price!
Cons:
I couldn't find anything that bothered me.
I've had these headphones for about a year and a half now. I was amazed when I compared them to the Bose equivalent. I honestly thought for the price, Bose should have been embarrassed. These headphones perform so well! As soon as you flick the switch, the quality of the music goes WAY up. These headphones cancel out noise so efficiently, too. You can actually hear your music when you use them on airplanes, it's really great. I am a huge fan of these headphones, and I always recommend them to friends.

Pros:
Light weight, easy to wear for full flight time
Cons:
No complaints
After reading the reviews for the MDR-NC40, I thought I'd give them a try. What a difference. Made flying relaxing. This pair is worth the price. Noticed three other people on my flight who owned them. They, too, were pleased.

Pros:
Great Sound, very comfortable, not too expensive.
Cons:
the switch that hangs from the cord is bothersome.
Bought these headphones 1 week ago and I must say they exceeded my expectations. The sound is amazing. Most stereo headphones sound too gushy, that is the sound comes at you all at once, you don't get the separation of bass, treble, and the higher notes, but with these you get the full spectrum of sound. These are not quite as good as the Bose headphones, but run a close second. Sony put alot of quality into these headsets, you can use them for a variety of occasions, including sports workouts, plus their foldable design makes them ideal to carry around almost anywhere. They're great!

These headphones do work without being on (without a battery), but the sound quality is not so great. When you turn these headphones on, they become super high quality. The sound quality is really amazing. I highly suggest picking up some rechargable AAA batteries from radioshack to go along with these. Great job Sony!

Pros:
Great sound / Pretty tough...
Cons:
The ON/OFF Switch // Fits a little tight for some // The cord is a little short...
If you "use" these headsets your going to burn through a lot of batteries. Don't even think of letting your kids use them. Why SONY would design this product without an auto shut off feature is a crime. If your not using the headsets powered ON they sound very poor indeed. But powered ON they are great!!! Dear SONY, DITCH the SWITCH and auto sense when your plugged in.
It would be a much better product if it was wireless.

Pros:
Sound Quality, weight
Cons:
Sound Isolation, Comfort, short cable lenght
This headphone is a really bad choise. with high power noise or low power noise the effect is the same, low reduction. Has a really good bass (but the bass works only with 1x AAA battery). Over-ear or in-ear headphones can make the same noise reduction without the ANC technology used in this MDR-NC40 model. Really ridiculous noise reduction.

Pros:
great quality, great case, monitor button, very adjustable
Cons:
after 5 hours they begin to make my ears hurt
They cost about $15 over what I wanted to pay, but I still purchased and they are really great. I use them mostly when flying and they perform very well. The headphones fit very well in the case, which has a spot for an extra battery (very handy). The on/off switch is located on the cord with a monitor button if you need to turn it off for a few seconds. This has a helpful clip to attach to clothing. My only con is that when I wear for more than 4 to 5 hours, such as on long flights, the begin to make my ears hurt. However I do not think this would be a problem for most customers. Once I even slept through takeoff, without even turning on the headphones.

I took very good care of the procduct, but it agin broke in the same manner. i purchased a warranty from Radio Shak, but now find that they do not stock or have similatr Sony product. I would not recomment this product.

Pros:
You definitely notice the great amount of reduction in ambient noise.
Cons:
The N.C.Headphones on & off switch and the monitor button, the product is made for N.C. so why have a switch?
I haven't owned any other noise canceling headphones before and I have got to say these are worth every penny.
I don't think I can go back to using ear buds, after using these.
I've always liked sony because I believe you can never really go wrong with any of there merchandise and I see them as a really reliable source for great quality electronics & technology.
I look forward to purchasing another pair.
I am very satisfied with this product.
Thanx Sony.

I am extremely happy about my purchase. As with all Sony products the build is immaculate, the headphones sound great. The carry case is a bit complicated but works well.

Pros:
Comfortable, Good Sound, Noise Cancelling
Cons:
Requires a battery for a good output.
I have been using these headphones for about a year now and I must say that they are really good. These are actually the first noise-canceling headphones I ever bought but I have tried different ones and this one is really good for its cost. Noise-canceling and the sound output is the best once the power is turned on but it is awful after the power is turned off. I would really recommend it for somebody who is looking for noise-canceling headphones that are not quite expensive as BOSE but we need to accept the fact that BOSE headphones are the best even though they are expensive.

Pros:
Sound Quality
Cons:
Quality of Build, Noise Leakage, Isolation
I understand that these headphones may seem relatively cheap in comparison with other on-ear noise canceling headphones but the the cheap build quality override this plus. Honestly, it shouldn't be called a noise canceling headphone because it doesn't to squat. For this price you are better of with in-ear headphones.
