Perfect Sports Buds

Pros: Great Fit, Great Sound, Sweat-Proof

Cons: Earpieces can act like hooks in your gym bag, snagging on things as you try to take them out

I bought these headphones after trying a few other designs from Sony as well as other companies. My day to day headphones are the Sony MDR-EX75 earbuds, which I LOVE, so I was looking for something similar in a waterproof package (I shorted out a couple pairs of the EX75s while working out). These were EXACTLY what I was looking for. Same great sound, comfort, etc. All in a package that was waterproof and stayed on my ears (better than Sony MDR-AS20J Sport Headphones). So far I'm convinced about 10 of my friends to get the same earbuds and they ALL can't work out without them now! You can find them cheaper on some other websites! ($25)

Best in ear phones for the price!

Pros: Strong, sound, bass, versitile, looks, cord length, price, durability

Cons: as any in-ear design, can get a little uncomfy

I noticed a lot of negative feedback for these, so I HAD to post a review so people reading don't miss out on a great product. I've had them for over a year, and i've put them through running, work outs, mowed lawns, skating (and a lot of falling), and last night, my wife washed AND dried these, and they're STILL going hard. Great headphones, strong, and sound great! For in ear design, these are by far the most durable headphones out there, and they sound great too.

wasted my money

Pros: ok sound, lots of little accessories

Cons: pop out of ears running, ear hangers arent really interchangeable.

Dont take the ear hangers off to try to fit with a different size, you'll never get them all the way back in the way, for almost $40.00 I expected higher build quality, frankly.

Broke my iPod :/

Pros: Great sound quality, bass

Cons: Not compatible with all headphone jacks

I just got the new Nano so I figure I'd upgrade the headphones. Well, the first couple days with it were great, but gradually the music started to distort or sound muffled. I would jiggle the plug that goes into the jack on the iPod to get the sound to come out right. If I moved it to the perfect spot and held it there it would play OK. As time went on I couldnt get music to play correctly at all, even with the stock iPod headphone. The Sony's had messed the connectors up so bad. Moral of the story: the design is pretty good and they sound GREAT(when they work right). Keep in mind I've had these for less than 3 weeks. But DO NOT USE WITH NEW IPOD NANO!!!! Now I'm back in Iraq and stuck with a broken iPod and useless headphones..... guess things could be worse.

Worst purchase ever

Pros: The size and fit is great

Cons: They stopped working after 2 months. Normal use, no jogging or working out with them. Just walking.

They stopped working after 2 months. Normal use, no jogging or working out with them. Just walking. I've never had a problem with a Sony product in the past 20 years, but this purchase will definitely make me think twice before I buy their products again.

Love them!

Pros: Good for activity, nice sound, interchangeable earbuds

Cons: None.

I have had these headphones for a little over a year now, and haven't had the first problem with them. My ears are oddly shaped, so I normally can't use in-ear buds unless they have over-ear hangers. I also wanted some that I could use while working out. These are perfect for working out because they're waterproof and pretty much stay put. They tend to slide out of my ear when I'm talking, but all ear buds do, so I can't complain about that. But the interchangeable sizes make them stay put much better than others I've tried. The sound is great for such inexpensive headphones. I've seen some reviews here that say the sound isn't great, but I'm a minor in audio engineering and often use these to evaluate my music while I'm on the go. Of course they're not up to the same quality as the more pricey Sony headphones, but they are exceptional for ear buds. And I've recommended them to some classmates who don't have the funds to go out and buy really nice headphones. I give them two thumbs up.

Love the design, sound... until right channel died

Pros: Nice fit, secure, two piece cable.

Cons: short product life.

I like the sound these provided and the fact that it came with a two piece cable, making them perfect for using with my Sony Ericsson phones (W810i, Aino) because I didn't have to figure out where to stuff a bunch of excess cable. I've had them maybe a year, with casual use (not every day and not all day), and today my right channel just died. I confirmed the channel in the earphones by testing with Aino and my PC. The short life scan really makes this a product I'm unhappy with and would not recommend though.

Take a chance to go to sony store

I ve seen all these reviews and i think the small problem is that you guys are not aware of the one year waranty that comes with the pair of earphones with the bill any sony store will exchange the headphones without any questions and these head phoens are great ive took a 5 year waranty damage and anything that happens to my ear plugs gets replaced which is awsome and people who does not wanna pay extra fees you got a one year free and exhnage unlimited for such a problm as RIGHT SIDE STOPED WORKING stop complaining and go to a sony store.

Other reviews here are skewed from my experience.

Pros: Excellent workout headphones with GREAT sound.

Cons: Cable can disconnect at ext..case not really usable day to day

I have two pairs and my wife has one, three pairs NO problems after over a year with the first pair. Well, actually the right ear went out in my first pair and after inspecting the phones I found that wax had built up in the channel which caused the issue. Clean them and that will probably fix the issues listed here. What is great about these headphones is they stay in place comfortably because of the hooks. I use them running, lifting, snowboarding and mountain bike riding (please don't use them on the road that is too dangerous). I have used them for HOURs at a time w/o any problems biking. The sound is great ( I own a 7 speaker Infinity surround system with 130 watts per channel and I know good highs and lows). if you are like me and hate the little buds that fall out of your ears when doing anything active, you will love these headphones. I sweat a lot and have never had an issue with performance when very active outdoors in 90 degree heat. The issues I have are minor. One the connection between the two cords can pop loose if you put any pull on them. This is typical if used for lifting or especially doing situps ;) In a few cases though it has been helpful - like during mountain bike crashes. The trick I use during gym work outs is to use two shirts and let the cord hang between them as this seems to reduce the issue. The second issue which is even less important to me is the case. For the cord to wrap up in it well I have found that I need to remove the alligator clip. I just don't use it. Instead, I have found that to reduce tangling of these phones, I slide the chin tightener up to the top and fold the cord up in half a few times and tuck in the shuffle clip. Comes out untangled every time. BTW, the short cord option is great if you have an MP3 player that clips to your camelbak. Works like a charm with no "cord" issues.

Disposable.

Pros: None

Cons: They break after 4 months

I had these for 4 months and treated them like they were made of glass. I stood up and sat down, didn't even pull on the wires in the process and the left earbud just stopped working. I had a phillips brand earbuds that lasted 3 years of being yanked out of my ears. These were never abused and they quit working in 1/3 of a year! They are worth 5 bucks for the being disposable.

Won't last

Pros: Comfortable

Cons: Short life span, annoyingly long cord length to second ear piece

I purchased these headphones about 9 months ago to listen to my iPod while I run. The design of the over-ear clips is nice, and the ear cushions are very comfortable. Sound performance was also solid. However after about 9 months one earpiece stopped working. Although these headphones are not excessively expensive, I'd expect them to work for at least a few years. I have a similar pair (without ear clips) that I listen to when I'm not working out and have never had a problem. I do not recommend using these headphones for exercising.

Great!...as long as they're still working

I absolutely love these headphones! The sound is great. They stay in place while I'm running. They are great for connecting to an iPod (with the short cord) or using on a treadmill (with the longer cord). I was SO BUMMED when I went for a run one day though only to realize that the sound in one of the headphones had totally stopped working. No matter how much I played around with them, I still couldn't get the functionality to return. This was about 9 months after I had originally bought them.

Left earpiece always shorts out

Pros: Great design for runners

Cons: Left earpiece shorts out

I've been through 4 paris of these headphones within the past year. When they work, they are great. The hanging earbuds are great for runners, and I've run marathons with them without having to worry about them slipping out of my ears. However, these headphones have a chronic problem of the left earpiece shorting out. It's quite frustrating prepping for a really great workout, only to discover that your headphones aren't working. I'm going to try a different style.

Best pair ever... for a while

Pros: Great for running

Cons: Bare wires where headphones plug into extension cord

I truly enjoyed this pair of headphones for a while. I started running more and they worked great, and had fairly good sound. The problem was where the headphones plugged into the extension cord. After a short time, the wires started slipping out of the plug on the headphone side. Now I have a great headphone extension cord and one working bud. Not worth the price for as long as they lasted.

My runs last longer

Pros: That I'll never buy these again

Cons: EVERYTHING

I hate to be so blunt, but I've gone through 3 pairs in under 9 months. I'm avidly loyal to Sony, but this last pair just went out on me DURING A HALF MARATHON. This is just sad. There should better QUALITY. Please these are good for maybe a dozen uses. DO NOT BUY. FACTS: 3 different pairs each only lasting about 3 months each Problem: One hear bud will usually just go "out" extension wire gets caught and detaches VERY POOR QUALITY. I used these for working out and running.

Cons: Poor Sound Quality

best earbuds(especially for small ears)

Pros: perfect fit for any size ear, great sound, comfortable

These are the best earbuds I've found yet! I have very small eardrums, and most earbuds are either painful to keep in my ear, or constantly fall out. The option for different size earpieces, for both in the ear and the over-the-ear piece, make them feel very comfortable, and stay in place without pain! I had given up on earbuds until I found these. I've had them for 1 1/2 yrs, and have to get another pair only because I lost them...they still sounded just as good as when I first bought them. I hope they never discontinue these!!!! I'd hate to be without them.

overpriced garbage

Pros: ear piece is comfortable for several hours of use

Cons: cheap, not made to last

These headphones gave me no end of trouble from the first day i bought them. The first problem was the cord extender does not make a solid contact; this caused the headphones to cut out and have a "static" sound every once in a while. After using the headphones every day for a month they broke. The right headphone now emits sound at half of the decibels as the left. This problem is from the connection to the right headphone, initially the right headphone went dead, but after tinkering with the cord i managed to get some audible sound out of it. These headphones are priced at $40 ($50 in stores) yet fail to reach the quality of $10 skull candy headphones. If you plan on using these headphones for more than one month DO NOT BUY THEM! Never in my life have i paid for headphones with such poor quality. I have always known that an item with great quality from Sony costs a small fortune. $50 for headphones that do not work is just unacceptable, i am extremely disappointed.

Not recommended

Pros: good sound

Cons: failed in six months

The earbud covers fall off easily. After 6 months I lost sound in one ear (out ofwarranty, which is only 90 days). I would recommned that you look for a manufactuer that has a better warranty, esp. if its products fail so readily. I am going to try to return them to best buy. No more Sony products for me; my daughter's Sony all-in-one CD player failed first during warranty, and its replacement failed just out of warranty as well. Not dependable.

Excellent product

Pros: Great sound, great fit

Cons: Sound shorts when very sweaty

These were great headphones. Great bass and crisp sound. When sweating heavily while jogging, the sound would sometimes short in one ear, cutting all sound, but I honestly don't complain because they weren't meant to be waterproof. The extension chord broke after 3 years and the sound is permantly lower in the left ear so I don't use them anymore.

Nice redesign of earbuds

Pros: Good sound, stays in your ear

I had been using the earbuds without the extra clips that these ones have. As soon as I saw these I grabbed em. Now I can listen to music without having to readjust my headphones. I haven't had any issues with cables wearing out yet. The sound is good for the price.

Headache

Pros: Great design

Cons: breaks after 4 months

Like all of the reviews above, these headphones are great for athletic use, but break after 4+ months, which is just outside the 90 day warranty period. It is a shame that a company like sony would make such a defective product for so long.
