Pros:
99% of the Walkman
Cons:
Battery life could be longer but I will live.
Simplified excellence in almonst all aspects. The battery life is not terrible but I would think Sony would have gone for a 24 hour. All my other mp3 players I own that are Sony have excellent battery life. I now love the fact that my expensive headphones or ear-bud cords don't hang waiting to catch a drawer handle & tear them from my head. The ZAPPIN feature is also a nice unexpected touch of a very cool way to search without eyes. Maybe next Walkman will be voice controlled? Hope, hope?

Pros:
Ultra lightweight, very portable, NO wires!!
Cons:
Not sweat proof, moisture kills this device quickly.
After searching for an mp3 player for intense cardio and weight training, I find what I believe is god sent, the sony w202. I quickly began researching the device and i stumbled upon reviews stating one common problem which ends up being sweat issues. I then decided to contact sony customer support. They told me that the current sweat issue had been resolved and as long as the serial # began with 53 or higher i would fine. Well 2 months later after leaving the gym from an average cardio workout, i notice that mp3 player no longer powers on. Sony advertises this product as the perfect mp3 player for an active lifestyle. Well its not!! I am so frustrated, I know I still have the manufacturers warranty, but I can not be away from an mp3 player for more than a few days, my workouts depend on this device. I really wish they could of sprayed some coating that would have made this device water proof or at least sweat proof. Whats the point of having a great size mp3 player that is ultra lightweight with no wires and all these functions if it can not even survive a day at the gym!!

Pros:
Superb Sound Quality, Great Fit, Lightweight, Fast Charging
Cons:
No Fast Forward or Rewind
I have left a prior review on this product and would like to update after using it for about a month. I had to return the original after it died on me in the middle of a workout. I got a brand new unit and behold, after about a week of running (5 miles per day), the unit started malfunctioning and eventually died on me. After returning it again I realized the problem...it does not like sweat! Sony aims this toward active people, however a few drops of sweat seem to render the player useless. I am very pleased overall with the player aside from the problem mentioned. The sound quality is truly unsurpassed and it stays on great contrary to what some may post on here. You can bend the wire to your liking making it looser/tighter making it fit snug. I was also happy that it came with the 3 sizes of ear buds. Overall, I would still recommend this to anyone although Sony should really think about waterproofing the internal parts on this model. If your tech savy like me, go buy yourself some "Plasti-Dip" rubber coating spray and take care of business on your own! The player is easily disassembled giving you the opportunity to "waterproof" the internal parts. Hope this helps someone who found themself in the same predicament!

Hi C16155. Thanks for the review and I wish I could run 5 miles a day. Going about 1/10 a mile tires me out. I appreciate you coming back to update us on how you've used the Walkman. I just wanted to make sure that readers know that we do not recommend using Plasti-Dip as it could void a warranty.

Pros:
no wires
Cons:
Not for a workout
I purchased this product with the thought of it being inexpensive and wire free. I loved it but after about 1 month of working out at the gym I noticed that it would no longer turn on. I reset it, charged it and it seemed to be working fine once again. However, that did not last long for within 2 more times at the gym it died. NOTHING worked and now I am stuck without music and out 59 bucks. I am very sad about this!!!!!

Pros:
Great idea, no hanging cords. Great sound. Easy to load music on, just drag and drop. Extremely lightweight.
Cons:
Keeps slipping out of ear.
When I first saw this headset, I knew it was a great idea, and something that I really needed. My only question was how it would fit. From the look of the product in the two video reviews I saw prior to it's release, I thought that the cord that connects the two earbuds would fit over the ear holding the earbuds in place. In one of the video reviews, the woman reviewing the headset did jumping jacks, and the headset stayed securely in place.
Well with my headset, the right side stays puts, no problem. The left side is the one that keeps falling out of my ear. I have tried all of the earbud sizes, I stuck with the largest size, but it still slips out of my ear.
What I have found that seems to work somewhat, is to wear my glasses and on the left size, put the frame on the outside of the cord the connects the earbuds. This works better than than just wearing the headset. It still will not hold it in place if the workout involves a lot of movement. If I am just using the weight machines, I am fine, I just need to push the left earbud in from time to time.
I would be interested in hearing if someone has found a fix for this, I am still trying to find a better way to keep them from slipping out.
The features, sound quality and ease of use is great. If the left side earbud would stay secure like the right side, they would be perfect.

Pros:
NO WIRES, COMFORTABLE
Cons:
BROKE IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS
THIS is a great idea gone bad. I Iove the wireless feature and the comfort of it. The problem that I was having when it was working is that it kept playing the same songs over and over and in shuffling mode, it often went back to songs instead of forward. But I could deal with that. I got this for Valentines 2010 and it broke today, 3/4/2010. I did not even get 30 days out of it. The other reviewers thought it might be moisture from working out- that's exactly what it may be because that is what I used the headset for- I was even drying it real good after working out and letting it air dry. Sony needs to take this idea and perfect it- you just can't have a product like this break so quickly.

Pros:

Cons:

Now we're advancing!
nevertheless, we still need more storage capability, and the radio.
I'll prove it and then give a better opinion but it seems to be quite good.

after the new 3rd gen ipod shuffle came out, i was so dissapointed, i finally wanted to make a change ans stop being like everybody else and buy something diffrent. when i 1st saw this i was like wow, this device is awesome, dont have to worry about your headfones getting tangled up, sound is great and the controls are easy to use, and im happy to say that you can add songs from your ITUNES which is great because thats where i had most of my songs anyway....bottom line get it because its great and you want to be diffrent right...

Pros:
the wireless feature
Cons:
It dies if you sweat
Loved the concept and the fit. Can wear it running, just can't depend on it workiing for very long if you sweat. I purchased two, one for myself and one for my sister. We began using them on January 2 and have had them replaced a total of 8 times to date. I have had 5 and she has had three..... same with all of them, just stopped working.
Sony did replace them each time, most recently with the W252 "Running Mate" model...... hopefully they hit the target this time!!

Pros:
Wireless, Aesthetic.
I took it on a 3 mile run today and it works great. It didnt fall or anything. The controls are new but it does have rewind, forward, play and stop functions. It has a preview feature called Zappin which is great. I use the feature to scan through songs that are appropriate for the mood. Because honestly, when I want to walk into a room, I want my theme song to be just right.

Pros:
Drag & Drop works fine in Winows and Linux. goes 12 hrs w/o recharge
Cons:
a radio would be a plus. no screen means no track IDs
Laird has screwed up the rating for this device with his invalid complaint. i find his motives suspect as he reviewed both the pink and the black models of this device with the same bogus issue. My Xandros-Debian Linux -- standard install on my new EEE PC -- recognizes this player as a mass storage device; drag and drop functions just fine. The bundled software won't work in linux, but it's utterly unnecessary.
See my full review under the black model.

Pros:
Convenient physical design
Cons:
Requires proprietary Sony software that only runs under Windows
This MP3 player looks like a brilliant design, but with a fatal flaw. Most MP3 players work as a USB mass storage device, which works with any OS without any software. For some reason this player appears to have some proprietary software that causes it only to work with Windows, and only 32-bit. If it worked in a normal way I would buy a set for everyone in my family immediately. But we don't have any 32-bit Windows in the house (64-bit, and Mac OS X, and Linux), and even if I did I don't want to use proprietary Sony software to manage my music, so apparently I can't use these.
Or is this one of those cases there the player would work fine, but some bundled software (that I don't want) is Windows-only? That would be fun.

Pros:
Lightweight, Crisp Clear Audio, Wirless, Good Price
Cons:
None so far!
I was a little hesitant to buy this MP3 player after just having shelled out for one back in December at Best Buy (Insignia Sport 4gb) I was overall happy with mine, but once I saw these I was tempted. I stopped in the Sony Outlet near me and purchased a set and right off the bat they were 15% off! Can't beat that! I got home and plugged it right into my computer and was running with them on within 15 minutes! They feel great and stay put once they are on. I love to run, and these feel like youre not even wearing anything. (No tugging on your ear from the cords) Any workout I performed these stayed put (i.e. sit ups, push ups, crunches etc.) The Zappin feature is pretty nifty too for finding your songs (plays about 2 seconds of each song before you select it) I would highly recommend these to anyone who is active or even those who just want to lose the cords!

Cons:
cannot use for multi purpose
On the quality, there is no comments. But, i accepted, there to be multi-purpose benefits from the device, as Bluetooth connections. which can support any kind of mobile context. Were price is quit high, which does not worth contains an option of buying Walkman.

Pros:
Good design idea
Cons:
Is not durable
I purchased this product at Walmart. I exchanged the 1st one after it completely stopped working after I used it 3 times during my workouts. The 2nd one worked for a few weeks and has now completely stopped working. I, like many people, sweat during a workout. I do not think that this product can stand-up to the sweat test. Now, I'm stuck with a non-working MP3 player and out of $59. It is a good design idea but will not hold up if you are a person that worksout everyday or every other day.

I was a little leary about getting an MP3 player that goes behind the head, but this feels comfortable. And the sound quality is superb. I have 2 other players and this is so easy and simple to use. The operation of the player while sitting on your ears is so easy. Downloading is a snap. I look forward to doing all my chores or even just relaxing and listening to music without having all the wires dangling all over me.

I have a Mac OS X. I drag my music from itunes on to the walkman icon on the desktop. It works great. I love that I don't have to mess with my ipod armband anymore when I go from cardio to weight lifting.
Make sure you understand how to use it before you work out. I know that sounds like common sense but I was frustrated on the treadmill. I was running while trying to figure out the zappin feature. Now I understand how to use it and I love it!
