This bag was given to me as a gift, and while I might not have spent my own money on it, I find that I use it more often than my more expensive system bag. Sony's messenger bag is simply more comfortable and inconspicuous as a camera bag.
In it, I carry a Sony a700 with VG-C70AM and a small prime lens attached to the camera body (Minolta 24mm f/2.8 or 50mm f/1.7). The whole package slips in with the focal plane parallel to the front of the bag. A bulky telephoto lens (Minolta 70-210mm f/4, 168mm long) slips in beside the camera with one of the movable dividers separating the two. At the opposite end of the bag, on the other side of the camera, a Cybershot DSC-TX7 shares space with a few granola bars.
With all of that packed into the bag, there's still room for more. I could easily pack another bulky zoom lens or flash gun in place of the P&S camera. With a less bulky camera and one more divider, I could pack another bulky item. Throw in any light but bulky item to keep your telephoto lens from slopping around, a paperback novel is perfect. Sony is modest about their specifications. A long zippered compartment on the front holds all of your smaller accessories; cards, batteries, filters, cleaning supplies, etc.
There are two more quick access pockets on the ends for non-precious items. They are uncovered and non-closing; handiest for long items because of their depth; pens, remotes, sunglasses, or even a cell phone or slim P&S camera.
