Reconsider

Pros: Good For Begginers, Nice Audio

Cons: Horrible Quality, Small Video Size

I bought the camera 2 years ago and may i say worst mistake ever. The video quality is choppy and barely works at a good angle. When you burn the file onto a dvd the video is small.

Excellent product for the price

Pros: Great features and style

Cons: The supplied battery (short recording time and life)

I bought this Handycam for recording my sons sporting events, family events and other special occassions. Had the Handycam for about 1 month or less easy to used and a lot of great features. You must buy additional battery packs so you don't miss important videos or pictures. Do not buy the supplied battery NP 30 as an extra would be a wasted of money. Once again overall a great purchased for $242.99 way below list price of $329.99.

Excellent Product!

Pros: Easy to use, sleek, stylish, solid-state hard drive

Cons: Battery life a bit on the low side

To the person who couldn't figure out Face Detection: You go to the menu. You touch "Face Detection". You touch "On". That's it. Face detection is automatic, you don't need to do anything else. Actually, I believe it's on by default. It makes faces look better, so you don't have to. Duh.

Video is fine, but camera?

Pros: Video works great

Cons: Why is there a camera? It's worthless.

I received this as a gift and was pretty excited because the dual functionality of video and photo. I assumed the quality of the video and photos would be comparable. Unfortunately I used it for some pretty important photos. My mistake. Why there is even a camera built in to this is beyond me. Now it is back to carrying two cameras around again.

See for yourself!!!

Pros: Nice little camera

Cons: shaky when zooming in

It's a nice camera, small and easy to use. It is shaky when zooming in from far. Not good in the dark even tho it has a build in light. I think the best way to write a review is to show what this camera does, you can see videos from different angles and judge for yourself here: www.youtube.com/user/sundewbabe1 ... Please do not leave feedback about the camera there, thank you.

To Buy Or Not To BUY??

Pros: Affordable, Slender, Lite Wt, Ease to Use, Great Lens

Cons: Editing PMB Software is very Limited, Accessories Over Priced

I have read the entire Operating Guide, very ease to understand. For the money the DCR-SR68 seems to be a good deal. It seems to do all that it says that it will do. The Carl Zeiss Lens is exceptional and the 60X Zoom is also very good. However, the available Accessories Prices seem to be slightly Over Priced. If you buy almost any additonal accessories then the Price Value of the DCR-SR68 goes out the window., mainly because the main accessories will cost much more than the actual purchase price of the Camcorder. So if you just want to do just the basics with no Add-On Accessories then it is a good buy, but if you want to do much more than just the basics then the cost will double very quickly. My biggest issue is the Very Limited Editing Software bundle that comes with the DCR-SR68. Very, very, basic with no bells or whistles. The LCD Light on board is a great idea but lacks enough candlepower to really get the job done when needed. Overall good product for the money. Oh, YES, I DID BUY, I got the RED ONE.

The Camera that needs glasses

Pros: Nice size, Looks good, Great features

Cons: Very poor video and picture quality and price!!

My 6 year old Canon camera doesn't have the same features, but boy can it take great videos and pictures! When I take videos or pictures with the Canon I can count the hairs on my head from 6 feet away. Its clear, crisp and sharp. With the Sony its very grainy, no sharpness at all. Its terrible! I can see my head but certainly cant count the hairs! I ran a split screen on my computer showing the same video from both the cameras and there is no comparison. The Sony is terrible! The Canon does not have half the specs. of the Sony but the Canon's pictures and videos are superb. I honestly wouldn't buy this model for $50! This is the most expensive camera I have ever bought and this is the most disappointed I have ever been! It gets: "thumbs down!!"

Love the camera but no sound after download

Pros: Good picture quality, Size, Style

Cons: sound

I recently purchased this video camera for filming school projects, vacations, and holidays. It has great picture quality and a decent batery life. For my purposes, this camera was great. Everything was perfect until I tried to download videos. had sound after I recorded and you could hear it on the camera but once I tried to play a video on my computer there was no sound. Does anyone know why this is or how to fix it? I would recomend this video camera if I knew how to
