This is my third Sony HDTV and this has by far the worst problem with glare. This was sent to me as a replacement after the first two kdl40-v5100 TVs continued to drop audio when source was on a HDMI. Would not have chosen this TV myself because it is almost mirror grade screen.

The right tv for me

I bought this tv specifically for the room in my house with the unobstructed west-facing windows and the screen is perfect. After I explained this to the salesman he introduced me to this model and I am very satisfied. I watch tv at night with the sun going down and have no glare issues at all. The screen is undeniably dull like it's been etched. Combine that with the crisp colorful picture it produces and it's the perfect tv for me.
