very unsatisfied

Pros: light, small, portable

Cons: slow, fragile

after no use for a week I opened my laptop and there was a crack in the screen that was not caused by my use of the laptop. I dont understand how by sitting on a desk for a week not touched or used by anyone would cause the screen to crack all of a sudden. and sony would not compromise with me what so ever or help me in any way.

It's Alright.

I like using a webcam for video, pictures and things like that but the quality isn't so great. When i video chat the picture is blury and the lighting keeps changing from a yellowish color then back to normal. I also found out the hard way that these computers have a very common problem. I shut down my computer and then the next day it wouldnt start up again. The screen was completly back but you could hear the rest of the system starting up. I had to look up what to but then read that there were a lot of other people that were having the same problem. This is a good computer but if you are someone who often uses a webcam and want good quality, i wouldn't recomend this peticular computer. Other than those two problems its a great laptop, small so I can take it anywhere but also big enough to use on a desk at home.

Not so great.

Pros: few

Cons: bunch

I have always wanted a Sony, have seen a number of them and have been impressed with design and operation. I finally spent the extra bucks to get one - why is the question that has been in my mind since it arrived. LOOKS: A bit on the cheap side. Very plain and I am not impressed. OPERATION: Works but slow. It is faster than my Atom 1.6 single core but not what I had expected from all the reviews of the AMD processor. QUALITY: Seems a bit toward the cheap side - battery rattles in the socket - not overly easy to open (when you lift the lid the whole unit lifts - no way to easily get fingers in to hold bottom down while lifting the top. The power cable is not a very good fit. Seems loose when you plug it in and seems not to go in all the way. The screen before video comes on is extremely wringled in appearance, does not show during operation fortunately. Font, even at 125% is to small for normal old eyes reading. VALUE: Sony made a bundle on this unit and I was stiffed a little in my mind. Over all it is a workable unit but if given the opportunity I would pick up a 300 dollar Netbook and keep the additional 200 in my pocket. If you need the extra inch of screen, bigger hard drive it might be a good fit for you.

Love this little laptop!

Pros: lightweight, 3 USB drives, 4 GB ram, 320 GB hard drive

Cons: Others say: pricey, small keyboard

Normally I purchase HP products and HP only. However, when I was in the market to purchase a "mini" I compared several models. I love this little laptop because it has 3 USB drives compared to HP's mini which has only one. This was a real plus for me. In addition it has 4 GB of ram, compared to other models that had only 1 GB ram. While I know other reviews state that it is quite pricey for the package, I shopped around and found a good deal - so it doesn't have to be pricey. PCWorld's review of this laptop described it as having a "really small touchpad," but let me tell you - if you have small fingers, as I do, this keyboard is GREAT! And, really, to me the keyboard is NOT that small. It was comparable (once again) to HP's mini laptops. All in all I love this laptop and can't say enough good things about it. Having to carry it nearly everyday, the 3.2 lb. weight makes it a pleasure to haul. Also, it is available in other colors (the pink is just a bit much). I got the silver color. A GREAT little laptop!
