Pros:
Good easy-access design, 4GB ram (1333MHz), no bloatware
Cons:
No USB 3, can't play 1080p
I was deciding between this and an Asus 1215B, which was the same as this but with usb 3 and $100 less. The design and reliability won me over. The 1215B was homely, had to be taken apart to take out the hard drive, and have a trackpad issue among others.
My scoring for the performance is based on the stock hard drive. After installing a SSD, the VPCYB15KX's performance increased by 50%. Boot time decreased to 30 seconds. Everything loads a bit faster than before, about as fast as my Asus N53jf-xe1.
It can barely play 1080p from youtube, but the stuttering makes it not worthwhile. 1080p from the hard drive is even worst. Therefore, I say it is incapable of 1080p.
Battery life, watching 720p video: highest setting - 3 hours, moderate setting - 4 hours
Although I said no bloatware, some might consider the Sony apps as such.
My only regret is that it doesn't have usb3. Then again, I don't really need it for the purpose I'm using this netbook for.

Pros:
Lightweight, brilliant display, comfortable keyboard, most features included (HDMI ), large HD capacity (500GB), 4GB RAM
Cons:
A bit slow CPU, pretty slow display refreshment
I loved that... This device is lot more than a netbook, a bit less than a laptop. As the conclusion; this laptop is the best travel companion one you can buy on this price.

Pros:
great style, crisp screen
Cons:
flimsy power connection
I just love this laptop. The weight and keyboard size are just right for what I wanted and the AMD processor does everything I need. Also the 4GB of RAM is perfect.
I did notice that the video preset had to be switched to 'Vivid' or movies looked washed out on the screen. I am also a little concerned that the power coupling port may not be very durable. I've heard of issues with this with netbooks (from other vendors) and hope I'm wrong.

Pros:
Small form ,light, decent battery life
Cons:
small touchpad,somewhat slow
Not as impressed as AMD says about this new APU. Its still slow and better graphics does not solve the slow CPU at 1.6Ghz. That's pretty slow in todays speeds. It will play video much better then a Atom based Netbook I had.
But other negatives are weak sound, small touchpad and sluggish performance. Colors seem a bit washed out too.

I've had this product for6-12 months
Pros:
size, performance, adapters/connections
Cons:
could be lighter
Love it! Mostly for the size and performance. I've got a tablet too yet there are some processes that my tablet can't handle which requires i take a computer too. The smaller size lets me manage both devices without being bogged down. Some reviewers cons were no USB connection ability, yet mine has three USB ports, plus HDMI and other networking and media ports. I've 11 Sony devices between computers, TV's, google TV and stero equipment because their service and resonsibility to their product support has been bar none fabbulous. And no I don't work or rep for Sony, but wish I did!

Pros:
Great looks, HDMI, small A/C adapter, Usable keyboard
Cons:
Screen color, poorly placed a/c plug, loose battery, ruggedness
This is my THIRD Sony sub-compact over the years. Prior to this release purchased Acer Ferrari One (similar specs) slightly larger than Atom based Netbooks but not $1000. Hated the Acer keyboard/trac pad and gave to son and purchased the YB.
As usual, great design, but monitor has bluish/purple tinge. Tried everything incl. 2 calls to Sony tech support (absolutely useless) and almost returned until discovered default power setting puts screen brightness at 60%, so even if you change graphics adapter brightness, it will be limited to 60%. Got it to work but still bluish/purple tinge.
Keyboard is very usable, although enter and tap keys could be larger. Battery was loose (but added felt pad) and ruggedness not as durable to previous models I've owned.
HDMI output is awesome as is multiple USB ports and SD slots (do we really need Sony mem slots??)
Overall GREAT value and usability. Get the monitor fixed and it would be perfect balance between Netbook and ultralight PC.

Pros:
Light weight
Cons:
none that I know of
I bought this laptop about a week ago. It is very light and small which makes it really easy to carry it around. The AC charger is very small and light weight, with a long cord.I like the fact that although the overall size is small but the keyboard size is as big as a normal laptop which makes it easy to type. It's the size of a netbook but with specs of a normal high end laptop.
