Multi-format playback lets you play your MP3, WMA, or AAC songs1. Hear digital music files in their original vibrancy with DM+ (Digital Music Plus), a Sony® codec enhancer that reproduces detailed frequencies from compressed audio files.

The easy-to-read 2-line LCD display shows clock, station ID and track data when playing back your digital MP3/WMA/AAC files1 from the internal USB input. Front aux input lets you connect almost any portable audio device to your car's sound system.
Use Quick-BrowZer® feature to find music by artist, album, genre, song or playlist. Jump Mode allows you to fast forward through a category in 10% increments while the ZAPPIN™ feature can play a 6, 9, or 30 second intro clip to help you find a specific song.
Sony Marine receivers are specifically designed to withstand the ASTM G154 test for UV resistance. This means the faceplate is treated to resist fading and discoloring after prolonged exposure to UV light.
Control your receiver while keeping your eyes on the road with the included wireless card remote (RM-X151).
The Tune Tray compartment lets you easily connect, control and charge your iPod®2, Walkman® player or other compatible music devices via the USB5 1-Wire input. Your player is secured inside, eliminating unsightly and distracting wires.
When you’re ready to expand your sound system, the DSX-MS60 offers selectable rear or subwoofer pre-amp RCA outputs for external amplifiers. Set the built in electronic HPF/LPF crossovers to improve sound quality and reduce system distortion.

Pros: Great functionality
Cons: IPod shuts down caused by overheating
I love the functionality of this unit and the performance. The main reason I bought the Sony DSX-MS60 was the iPod function and the fact that the unit holds the iPod inside and the head unit controls the iPod however after a short time of playing even a fully charged iPod the iPod shuts down from overheating and will not function again without being re-charged again. ThIs makes this feature useless and significantly lowers the advantage of owning this unit.

Pros: keeps my iPhone and/or iTouch out of Harms way
Cons: Iphone and Ipod touch over heats after about 45 mins in the player
I really like the functionality and the way that the Ipod fit inside of the stereo is really nice, but after about 45 mins to a hour my iPhone or iTouch goes into over heat mode and shuts down. I have tried several different configurations, airplane mode on, back light on lowest setting, fully charged prior to hooking up, leaving the door for the glovebox open to add some cooling, leaving the face of the stereo open, ETC... If you have good airflow behind the stereo then you might be ok, but for me where my stereo is in the glovebox and sealed behind in a air and water tight area it is a big concern. I hope that this stereo doesnt ruin my iPhone!!!

Pros: Looks of the unit, sound
Cons: overheats and shuts down IPhone
I purchased this product in May of this year and used it throughout the 2012 boating season. This unit would constantly overheat my IPhone and my phone would shut down finally we stop using the internal connection and we started using the AUX port. By using the AUX port you lose the features that this head unit is supposed to have when you buy it. If the unit would not overheat it would be pretty cool.
