WORST EVER

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Everything

I can't use VGA and HDMI at the same time on the docking station. But I can use them on the laptop. And I got this "docking station" to avoid plugging/unplugging the cables from my two monitors when I'm not by my desk. And you can't put words that describe this product the best in the review. Thank you, sony.

Piece of useless junk

Pros: HDMI and Gbit LAN ports

Cons: No dual monitor support. NO USB 3.0 port

I knew about the lack of dual monitor support from other reviews, but I got it on sale from Sony for $37.50. I figure it was worth that much not having to plug and unplug cables every day I go to the office. I bought a USB 3.0->HDMI external video adapter to drive the 2nd monitor in my dual-monitor setup. What I failed to notice is that all 4 USB ports on the dock are USB 2.0. There is no USB 3.0 port on the dock. I still have to plug and unplug cable each work day. Yes, it is my fault not noticing the lack of USB 3.0 port. However, what is the point of this docking station if it doesn't even replicate all the ports on the laptop? What a worthless piece of junk. I totally regret buying it, even at the huge discount.

At least we have a dock

Pros: we have a dock option

Cons: No DisplayPort No USB3.0 No DVI No E-Sata No Audio

this is an big usb hub with HDMI Please, SONY, for $200, can you please put in the display port, USB3.0 and at least audio ? E-Sata is a little over asked, but we would really appreciate it if you put one. Or, exteral PCI-E 8x for Desktop Video card like Thinkpad's advanced Dock 2503-10U ? Bottom line: Audio can be solved by USB, HDMI can be converted to DVI or DisplayPort. But we do miss USB3.0 and E-Sata.

Buyer Beware...

Pros: Plenty of ports, accepts sheet battery

Cons: Cant use both video ports at same time, Fit with vpcse190x is not "solid"

So, i purchased this sony vaio with "docking station" to replace my old dell in its docking station. No where on this site does it say that both the vga and hdmi ports could be used simultaneously. BUT, you cannot. I called AMD thinking it was a graphics card or driver issue, but they are the ones that told me the docking station is supposed to have a chip inside that will allow you to extend external displays to more than one. This does not do that. You can have 2 displays as long as one of them is the laptop display. I thought this was a steal all around, but its because they don't tell you that info and you have to buy to find out. I'm still keeping it because as a docking station it does other things for me like having all the keyboard, mouse, printer, single display, power, all in available in one "plug". The seat is not exactly form fitting either. It fits, but you just don't know if its all the in or half way in. Its a bit pricey for the lack of dual external monitor support. Its actually very pricey for not having that function. I only recommend this product to someone that is in the market for a lightweight laptop (VPCESE190X) and needs a docking station for all their peripherals, not a usb hub station that can be found at best buy and other places.

Nice addtion for free!!

Pros: Easy to manage many stuff connecting to the laptop via this Docking station

Cons: Free!!!

I bought a Sony Vaio SE laptop and received this for free!!! I loved it, because I don't have to disconnect anything when I move the laptop away. For people who said there isn't any sound port, I believe that HDMI included sound from the laptop to the monitor so... It worked for me since my monitor has speakers too.
