Pros:
Small easy to carry around.
Cons:
Viewfinder is useless with the sun at your back
the Camera I have is the HDR-CX590,
I just looked at the specs, seems to be the exact same camera.
I like using this for random video, traveling and just goofing around. Its a great unit, but I wish there was a different view / screen option.
when the sun is at your back, which you try for, the viewfinder is not that useful.....
Other than that, this camera is awesome.

Pros:
Zebra and Peaking
Cons:
Low light, washed out picture quality..
Sony decided to put a smaller sensor in this years CX580v compared to last years 1/2.88 in the CX560v. The quality is very poor. Filming indoors with regular lighting the picture quality gets very grainy, almost unusable. They also removed alot of manual controls such as, mode dial, shutter, iris, and AE shift. They took away night shot, moved the speakers to the front under the lens which picks up wind noise. This camcorder isn't worth $799.00.. I suggest you either go with the PJ710v, CX760v, PJ760v or get last years models CX560v/CX700v.. I am very disappointed in Sony this year..

Pros:
On camera light, HD 60/24p quality, zoom, wide angle
Cons:
No nightshot
This Camcorder is awesome! It is So high def. It is a little grainy in lowlight indoors , but you can fix that by turning down the manual exposure settings a little. But, either way outside or inside, the quality is superb! I like how it has 2 Bright lights on the camcorder, it's good for at night, or in the woods searching for the Blair witch LOL but really , it lights up a whole dark living room !
The include lens hood is a great installment. I like how it also has a sony interface shoe, to power accesories, like on camera lights or microphones. The only con is that, It doesn't have sony nightshot/night vision. And the lack of Real manual settings, such as on the sony pj 710v.
