Pros:
Very Balanced sound,Great Portability
Cons:
None-except no storage bag
I own many headphones from Grado,Sennheisers,Beyerdynamic,Akg along with Sony models mdr-zx700,mdr7506's,V500's and these are the best sounding under 100.00 headphones I own. They have great balanced sound and for "DJ" headphones they sound great with all music genres.Great buy. Still trying to obtain storage pouch that sony says is included(mine came with no pouch)which is important to me.

Pros:
Great quality, portability, build
Cons:
Fabric on headset deteriorated
What a great product, but after about 4years, the fabric on the headset started to break down and fall apart in my ears. Too bad, since the headphones still work, but it's the same price to replace the fabric as it is to get a new set.

Pros:
Awesome bass, but not overpowering, adjustable length
If you want to get good headphones that are good quality and not cheap, then these are the ones for you. When I first started looking for headphones I looked for beats, but you can get better headphones way cheaper. The MDR-V55 by Sony come in many different prices, but it is available for less than $100 so it is relatively low priced, and the sound quality is amazing! I especially love the bass! Which isn't overpowering, but nice!

Pros:
Style, Size, Sound
Cons:
Creeky plastic, Uncomfortable at first,
I bought these cause i tried out the v55s and thought these were a better version. These are nice to look at and the sound is nice at resonable volumes but if you crank it up then everyone in the room can hear you and it gets really distorted but then again im not trying to destroy my eardrums anyways so im good. The plastic is creeky and makes alot of sounds as you try to adjust. I have had these phones for about 3 days now and im still trying to get used to the lack of cusioning, the diameter of the cans are really wide and i think sony should have just went with around ear instead of putting this on ear... some of my ear has cusion and some parts feel the hard plastic underneath... they should have put more cusioning. I bought these so i am gonna use them but i would have been happier with the v55s.

Pros:
Exemplary Sound, Great Style
Cons:
A Little Tight, Creaking Hinges
These are great headphones! Let me just get that out of the way because they actually are, the sound is some of the best i have heard. I originally had the ZX700's and returned them after 2 weeks because of a reverberation problem in the left speaker during moderate to heavy bass. I bought these instead and boy was i pleased i had since the sound was both louder and clearer in the V55's then the ZX700's in my opinion. I don't have to mention the style of these as you can see it in the pictures above, but i am going to mention it anyway since the pictures do not do it justice, these really are smashing looking headphones in person, more so then any low resolution picture can convey. Also the folding and swiveling abilities of these headphones has already come in handy a few times, however, it is there in that the problem lie; The Hinges. Now let me be perfectly clear on this issue as i want to be as fair as possible. You cannot hear the creaking when you are listening to music, repete, YOU CANNOT HEAR THE CREAKING WHEN LISTENING TO MUSIC. Now, when you can hear it however is any other time at all :P If you are watching videos or just have the headphones on but are not listening to anything (i.e you are talking to someone or are in between videos, etc.) it is a small creaking coming from what i have ascertained to be the semi-circle hinge that attached to the left and right side of the ear cup. When i have them on, if i move my jaw at all or tilt my head in any direction, like, 2 degrees... i am talking astonishing sensitivity to movement, you will hear this sound. I was willing to put up with it at first because it was minor, but with how often i use them and how often i have to hear it, after the past few weeks i have really reached my limit on this sound and it is becoming bothersome. It has not gotten worse, i am just getting tired of it. When i first bought them they did not make a sound for about 1 week to 10 days tops, then out of nowhere it just started happening. And i want to stress that i am immeasurably and almost unhealthily careful with these things. I rest them gently on a pillow next to my bed when not in use, for real :P So i am sure it was not do to me misusing them. Furthermore i have found a few other people on the world of the internet that own these that have said the same thing so i know i am not an isolated incident. Being completely honest, if i was not past the 30 days (and this problem happened like i said only 10 days in, i just didn't want to bother with it) then i would likely return them, which is a true shame if ever the word was used appropriately. I can't say enough good things about how they sound because they are marvelous, fantastic, easily worth twice the asking price in sound alone. But i just can't get past the, i am sorry to say, cheap quality of the hinging on these. Were it not for that they would get a 5 across the board from me. They were tight around the head as well, but that can fluctuate from person to person and has gotten better since i got them so i am not really counting that against them, just wanted to make note for those of you out there with slightly over normal sized Brain Holders. In hindsight, i kind of wish i had gotten the ZX600's since they have the same sound quality without the design drawback. And i would love to return these in exchange of the ZX600 if i were still able (if any one from Sony reads this, i would love to do that, thanks :) So in summary, if you don't mind the small creaking which again cannot be heard during music listening, then you have world class headphones here. But if you are going to multi-purpose use them (i.e outside of just music) or you tend to have them on a lot without actually having anything playing on them, then i promise that the sound will really start to bother you after a short time and you would be best advised to get the ZX600's. As a final note, it is entirely possible that this problem does not effect all V55's and most of them my be ok with no weird sounds at all, all i know is that mine and a few other people i have talked to do have that issue and it deserves an explanation and restitution.

Pros:
Very balanced, comfortable and great range of highs, mids and lows.
One of the best headphone purchases I've made in a long time. They are comfortable when you sit them right and they also fold up and get quite compact. The sound range is very, very good. The bass is strong, but not over powering. The highs are crisp and defined and well balanced. The mids are also very balanced and tangible. Everything flows well and no particular range is more obvious than the other. Basically, they sound absolutely fantastic. They look great and have a nice industrial design to them. The cord design is great and it is only attached to the left ear and it works well keeping the cord out of the way. Good work, Sony. Keep it up.

Pros:
Quality Sound
Cons:
Short Cord Length
I made this purchase to replace my broken MDR-V700's. The sound quality is great. The headphones fold up nicely too. The short cord length is the only thing I don't like. Can't move around like with the MDR-V700's but will get used to it.

Pros:
EVERYTHING! Sound, comfortable, portable, durable
Cons:
wish they came with a case of some sort.
I was researching for headphones for a long time. I finally decided on these after about a year a research. ( a year because i planned on buying them then something came up) I finally made my decision after seeing many reviews say these beat even the $300 beats. And went to a Sony store to try the sound for myself. I was purely amazed. Putting these headphones on was an experience. The sound was full, the bass was strong, but not over powering, and the highs and lows hit just perfectly. You CAN'T go wrong with these headphones. I love them and use them everyday! I hope this helps with your purchase!

Pros:

Cons:
ears hurt from general awesomeness
I hav had these headphones for about three weeks now, and have had zero problems with them. They sound great, they deliver tight, deep bass down to 5hz. I highly recommend these over Beats by Dr. Dre as they sound exactly the same. Thanks Sony.

In ten years of my DJ experience, this headphone set from Sony is the greatest-value pair I've ever come across. Hands down. Great, great work, Sony.

Pros:
Sound quality, build quality, portability
Cons:
Get uncomfortable after a while
I've wanted these headphones for a while, since I first heard about them on youtube. I am very satisfied with them. I've been a Sony fan for a while. I'm typing this review up on my Sony laptop. I've always knew Sony makes quality products, so far they've never failed. I've been looking for a great pair of headphones with amazing bass. I bought three pairs of Sony headphones within three months. These headphones are perfect. I strongly recommend them. This is the way music is suppose to be heard. I'll be purchasing the MDR-1Rs and the MDR-X10s next.

Pros:
Sound Quality, Bass, looks
Cons:
Discomfort after few minutes of usage
All the pros are the same as other reviews. The only con I don't see mentioned is that these get uncomfortably hot and hurt your ears after just 15 or so minutes of usage. So if it is comfort you're looking for, these are not the cans you're looking for.
