Pros:
Will fit aftermarket antena, sound quality

everything else, especially user interface and functionality
The software that operates this thing is inherently flawed. When you start it up it defaults to turn on the blueray player and you can not change that. This results in a very long start up time and prevents you from turning the stereo tuner on directly. ALso switching between functions is cumbersome and seems to bog the equipment down, especially after startup. Consequently the delay means that you end up pressing the function button repeatedly resulting in a fast scroll through all of the functions and a miss of the one you actually want. It often then just defaults to "HOME" from which switching functions is again cumbersome. It takes upwards of 5 minutes to startup and to be allowed to switch functions. SO if you just want to listen to the stereo, forget it. An additional problem with this unit is that it occasionally just stops outputting sound from the TV. This problem is especially noticeable when trying to listen to internet radio. No clue why or how to correct this issue. In short to do anything with this thing other than play a BlueRay disc you have to constantly futz with it and hope it works. It really does not work properly and whoever in quality control allowed this item to make it to market should be fired. IF you are only looking for a BlueRay player with external speakers for movies, then this product will work for you otherwise the other functionality advertised with this piece of junk is completely dysfunctional.

Speaker wire too short with no way to make longer
Bought this to match my recently purchased Sony 32" BRAVIA. Found out that the speaker wire length would not allow me to put the speakers where I wanted to, because the wire ends are sealed on the speaker end and the opposite end has a SONY proprietory end connection that plugs into the back of the unit, you can't splice a length of speaker wire to make longer. Contacted SONY support and they confirmed this. MEASURE the speaker location to where you are going to put the DVD player before buying this unit and make sure you have enough speaker wire.
Packing it back up and returning it to the store tomorrow.

pre-wired speakers are a pain to do anything with if you already have wired you room.
This system was a disappointment. Aside from the speakers being pre-wired the system itself gets hung at times trying to play a new Blu-ray disc and then you need to turn it off and on to get it sorted out(more than once most times) it also does not respond well to the remote commands when you are changing between TV and BD/DVD.(for example)
The old Bravia system I had was far superior.
Come on Sony you are being left behind in this market.

Im in love with this Home Theater! I gave away my JVC Home Theater system for this and it was the best decision! I've had this system for 4 months and it still sounds great. I love all the apps it has, I love how everytime I watch a movie it still has that great kick to it. Speakers are great. It's a great bedroom or living room home theater! I recommend this system. You'll love it

Pros:

Hardwired speakers, no HDMI in (switching between DVD and TV is a pain),
All the speakers on this are hardwired (wires come out of the speaker itself) so you will have to splice and dice in order utlize any pre-wiring in your house. I always worry that there will be signal loss with splicing (and we'd have to splice twice to use this system).
Further we were disappointed that this has NO HDMI In connections so it is pretty painful to change from DVD back to TV modes.
Lastly, we bought this thinking it would work for a large great room - sound is really good if you are sitting in the middle of the speaker arrangement, but does not from the other side of the room ... we are returning this for the E790 to address the rear speaker issue (might as well use wireless if we can't easily use our pre-wired system), the HDMI connections, and the front speakers having two-way on the 790.

Pros:
Easy set up, great sound system, great picture
Cons:
USB doesn't reconize my new turntable, on only MP3 sound recordings.
Have enjoyed several Blue rays on the system the picture is excellent, sound it also great.

I have absolutely no complaints about this system. Everything is perfect about it. It does everything equally well whether its watching a movie, listening to music from the ipod, playing a game on my xbox 360, or just watching TV. It all sounds GREAT!

This has been a great choice for my bedroom, not that i needed one but its great to have audio system. If you want a audio system for bedroom or apartment or basement, or small living room this is it and is loud enough and hands down gives u that cinematic jaw droppping sound.
IDK why some the reviews are complaining about the wire length but they are LONGGGG just like the other one's, idk if your living room is super duper concert BIGGG, than maybe think about getting wireless in the first PLACE!!!!!!! but these are GREAT believe me.
The set up is a breeze just need to place your speakers and plug in the power line to back of the blue ray 3D player that's it "I love it".
It works great with other SONY products also like PS3 but make sure u get a optical audio out for your PS3 to connect to the player or whatever else your connecting, this blue ray player has multiple great audio in and out's but one HDMI which is not a problem for me.
its also great with compatibility with SONY products.
Overall the Picture is amazing, The Sound is Thrilling, The 3D is Fantastic and also has a 2D to 3D conversion which is awesome, u can custom calibrate the speakers, and its packed I MEAN PACKED with Features and online entertainment.
Sony products are just wonderful hands down and the Customer Service is EXCELLENT, they will solve every issue as long as its in their job description Good job SONY make us proud.
