After being with the iPhone for years, I thought I would give Android a try. This phone at first glance appears amazing, hence why I signed a 3 year contract to get it. Now after having it a week, I am disappointed with the performance, battery life, response time, and almost regret switching. Scrolling through Facebook, the touch response is horrible! The volume sucks when listening to music, and I called my friend 7 times, and each time he couldn't hear me. After rebooting the phone, yes, you read that right, I was able to place a call to him and finally he could hear me! The battery is at 50% without barely doing anything! When I say this, I am not a huge internet user. Facebook, Music Player and SMS mostly. Sony, you really need to get on this if you even think you want to me a contender in this gruesome, cut-throat cellular market. I am very disappointed with this phone and just hope others read this and take it to heart. Everything I have stated here is fact and without emotion! Now that I am stuck with the phone for 3 years, I might just stomp on it and switch back to my iPhone! I don't see how this can get resolved. Buyer Beware!!!

Great phone, Love it more than my Samsung S3, & my Iphone 5. Only 2 fails I can find. The MP3 Player will put a break inbetween song. Sucks when you are listening to Dj Mixes. Other fail is Sony headphones work great with Iphones, & not Droid devices. Major fail Sony!!! You make Droid devices, but not any High end headphones for them. I have to use my Bose headphones to use both phone & MP3.

Much better than the iPhone, the Xperia ZL offers Android functionality and a big beautiful HD screen. The design is very elegant, much nicer than the Samsung phones that to me seem rather cheap and juvenile. The camera is also great, capable of taking some very professional-looking photos. Sony has done an excellent job with this phone.

It's nice but the metter is the price too

it's nice phone but why the price is too high from USA in USA about 585$ USD and in CA 675 C$

The Android device to convert an iPhone user (me!)

Pros: Screen, Design, Software, Sound, Walkman App

Cons: Battery Life***

I was a dedicated iPhone user until maybe 2 weeks ago when I first saw the XPERIA ZL. It is really one thing to see a picture of it and something else completely when you hold it in your hands. It is very light and so comfortable to hold for a device with a 5" screen (that you seriously must see to believe). The only thing that kept me from going Android was iTunes, which I found convenient and easy to use. Well I recommend that you find and watch a video of Sony's own "Walkman" app for their XPERIA line of phones (and Sony better start banking on it too!). It is SUBLIME and coming from the inventor of portable audio you can bet that it sounds great and the app's user interface is just second to none. The best part though? When I connected my phone to my PC for the first time the phone asked me if I wanted to install the software on my PC and the software provided is just incredibly easy to use. I could hardly believe it was made by Sony, the same company whose horrible software for their minidisc devices still gives me nightmares to this day. It is actually able to retrieve crucial information you had from your last iPhone backup and even locates it for you. 10 minutes later and now all my photos, contacts and my entire music library is on my phone with matching artworks. I really did not expect this and it is such a tremendous advantage that it had to be mentioned. Sony, you outdid yourself. I was excited when I bought the device but now, after a few days of use and discovering all the perks that make this such a tremendous upgrade over my iPhone, I couldn't ask for more and I have absolutely no regret. *** One note though, the battery life of the device seemed to be low at first but you know how it is when you have a new toy, you keep playing with it. Thankfully, Sony's own battery management software and customizable "Stamina" mode gives it the same battery life I'm accustomed to from a smartphone but not better.
