Forget what you read in reviews. I read nearly all I could find for weeks leading up to the decision to purchasing an expensive replacement P/S for my aging, underpowered Canon. Everything said in most of the competent reviews is true. Most of the criticisms are of no real consequence. I've been messing with camera equipment over forty years; big ones, small ones, fat ones, skinny ones. They are all special when new and run their life cycle. This one stands out at this particular time. Its not a $3000 SLR so don't expect that although it may give you better images than your current SLR. The RX-100 is IMHO the best P/S and maybe one of the best cameras given the way it's packaged on the market today. Get past the cost when you can; if you can. You will be convinced it is worth it after ten minutes of playing around and shooting with it. In 18 months of course there will be something better on the market I'm sure. Always is. So, wait if you are one of those. I have stopped lugging my SLRs and kit around to less than mission critical functions this camera is so good. Quit stewing about it; buy it, try it and learn to use all of it's features and you won't be sorry. It's an amazing piece of photographic technology and you are more likely to have it handly than your forty pound SLR kit.

Pros:
Very high quality workmanship and materials
Cons:
None
This case fits the RX100 beautifully, and provides protection particularly in front of the lens where the shutter cap seems light, and there's extra padding over the rear screen. Hard to believe it's not real leather by the high quality "retro" look and feel, but the synthetic will be better in damp conditions. Still fits in a pocket, although a bit bulkier.
