disappointed...

Pros: small, nice powerfail feature, A+B alarms

Cons: NOT 24 hour clock, way too bright, even at dimmest setting

Pictured on Sony's site, and everywhere else is a 24 hour clock, however this unit does NOT do 24 hours. Sony, refresh your site image, false advertising! Also, this clock is VERY bright, even at it's lowest setting, lights up the whole room, I have to turn it off completely at night, preventing me from seeing what time it is if I get up in the middle.

Almost Perfect

Pros: Looks, features, large numbers, nature sounds

Cons: Display too bright despite being adjustable, alarm turn off botton undestinguishable amongst the many similar bottons.

Very good overall, if you don't mind the bright display that lights up the room even on the dimmest setting. Also alarm off botton difficult to find as it is small and amongst similar bottons.

Best alarm clock that I've had for a long time

Pros: Dual alarm, 2-5-7 day alarm settings, snooze & dim features are separate, nature sounds are better than expected

Cons: No nap feature, alarm off button needs to be alone or easier to feel

Once I saw all the features this alarm clock had I had to get it. I coudn't believe the number of features including the nature sounds that actually sounds like nature sounds. They're still a bit grainy and tinny but not nearly as bad as many other brands and models. I love that hitting the snooze button for the alarm does *not* turn on the clock backlight (my iHome does this and it's annoying). The main thing missing from this unit is the napping feature. I often like to shut off my alarm and sleep for another 20 minutes using a napping feature instead of the snooze (which I like to keep at 10 minutes). So I really miss the nap feature. I also wish the alarm off button (or Power off) was either alone and/or felt different to the touch then all the other buttons. I want to make sure that I'm turning my alarm off and not selecting a different feature instead. It's a small button in a line of small buttons so it can be hard to find it, especially by feel. My biggest wish is to have an alarm clock just like this, all the features - and the small size is amazing - with a talking clock! I love to know exactly how much time i can stay in bed before I really need to get up and the talking clock alarm is the best way. Maybe one day Sony will make me one ;)

What happened to Sony?

Pros: Audio in, nature sounds, size, thermometer

Cons: Backlit display, sound quality

I bought this for the nature sounds; I'm overall happy with the sounds. The waves have a bird chirping in it, I find that annoying. I love that this clock doesn't dock to my iPod. Docking is really bad for the iPod battery, so I love that this has a simple headphone cable. For the price, I'd expect the sound quality to be a bit better. What I really hate about this clock, and was tempted to take it back because of it, is the backlit display. The backlight is brighter than the digits that tell the time. I can barely see the time whether night or day. Overall, its ok.

Too Bright

Pros: Digital tuning, temp display, alarm set display, easy to use

Cons: Too bright

Almost perfect but because of the one con, I would not recommend. The backlight on it is way too bright even on the dimmest setting. The backlight can be turned off entirely (clock still functions) but it's nice to see the time at night. So dissapointed!!!

Not A Good Buy

Pros: None

Cons: Poor Quality

I simply did not think that this Dream Machine was worth the amount of money charged; for two basic reasons. The machine did not feel like quality material, and there were far too many cords issuing forth from the device. Sony needs to redesign this device with higher quality plastics, and design the auxiliary cord, and antenna cord, as detachable. I hope this feedback improves future models. Being mindful of sounding too negative, or counterproductive, but over the past 24 months I have seen a profound reduction in the quality of Sony products, while prices continue to increase.
